I would love to have the option of having the battery indicator in the top panel show percentage next to the icon and/or time left on the unplugged device. I have searched long and far for an add-on/tweak etc. If anyone in the community has come across one let me/us know. Right now, using a conky script which gives me a display on my desktop.
I second it. It’s one of the missing features of MATE.
how about the battery charge monitor panel item?
it offers the options to show time or percentage remaining
the icon changes if plugged in.

OK, now i can see why you might not like the panel item - it doesn't update the %age very well!
