For the next distribution to switch from redshift to find solution in other options since on this link it is stated redshift is deprecated and no longer maintained:
Main reason is that a lot of users are aware of bad effects blue light from the screen produces and we need to take care of the health and well-being of Ubuntu MATE community + we shouldn't let this stop potential linux users from switching
