I d/l zoom_amd64.deb but used the File Manager, caja, right click on the .deb file to install using GDebi Package Installer. That way it will install the deps as well. It took some time, install was completed. Here's a screenshot if that helps. I'm on UM 20.04

I have to use Zoom. I have to upgrade it every time In need to use it, which is once a month. You have to get the Ubuntu upgrades and Zoom upgrades in sync. Try the newest version, if it does not work, upgrade Ubuntu Mate, and then try to upgrade again. A few times it was not in sync and I had to use the browser instead of the Zoom program. Always check before the Zoom meeting that it works, so you have time to upgrade if it doesn't.

I right clicked then chose install using GDebi package installer, the same box as yours appeared but the status :
Error:
Wrong
architecture
'amd64'--
Run dpkg --
add --
architecture
to add it
and update afterwards.
(in red font)

the "install package" option is not activated/allowed.
what shall i do?

Are you trying to install this on a Raspberry Pi?

Download the "zoom_amd64.deb" package. It should install.

I use Ubutun mate 18.04 and I tried the downloaded (zoom_ambd64.deb) from their website but I am unable to install either from the terminal or from the installation package

Hi, please post output of
uname -i?

Hi, the output is
i686

You are trying to install a 64bit package and need the 32bit one. Please try this link:

https://zoom.us/client/5.4.53391.1108/zoom_i386.deb

Hi !

I upgraded from 20.10 to 21.04
I had Zoom client, but it disappeared
I reinstalled, but it doesn't show in Applications menu
What to do ?

Thanks

W

Addendum: Zoom does work if I use the Run (Alt+F2) command. Fact is that I did it that way... to then see it appearing in the Applications menu after that... thought I had to unclick-re-click it from the main menu so it shows permanently.
Weird. Would like to know what happens in the background...
