App center freezes

Hello,

When I launch App center it freezes. Also sometimes crashing. This problem started to occur today. Yesterday was fine. I refreshed snaps via terminal and didn’t fix the problem. How can I fix it? Could you please someone help?

Btw I am using 24.04.3 LTS on Lenovo loq laptop with rtx 4070 GPU and Nvidia Driver 580 which system automaticaly installed.

Yes, "Appcenter" is notorious for being highly problematic on certain configurations.

No, we can not help you with that. It is fully out of our hands because it is packaged as a snap so only the author/packager of that piece of "far-from-mature" software can help you out and do patches. It often conflicts with the compositor (the layer between the graphical server and the videodriver) so you might want to try to switch the compositor off.

But if all else fails:

You might want to use "Synaptic" instead, which is superior to "(cr)Appcenter"

Ofcourse you have to install "Synaptic" first, which seems to be a catch 22 without "Appcenter" :slight_smile:

To avoid this, open a terminal and type: sudo apt install synaptic
You can close the terminal afterwards.

Don't forget to file a bug against "Appcenter"

Way too many people forget to file bugs, so developers don't hear about it, and as a result nothing gets fixed.

EDİT: Finally solved. Warzone 2100 game causes this issue. I deleted via terminal and it fixed. Thanks :slight_smile:
