Re: Cold boot ASUS K53TA-CST1
In case other Ubuntu Mate users may be having similar difficulties.
I really like Ubuntu Mate and I’ve been using it on my main desktop for at least 6 months now. Recently I installed Ubuntu Mate on my ASUS K53TA laptop as well. The install went smoothly but I kept having trouble booting from a cold start. It would take repeated attempts and often I would have to use my DVD boot disk or go into BIOS in order to get back to my original setup.
After much trial and error I finally discovered the setting in the BIOS which seems to have solved my problem.
ASUS K53TA-CST1 Turn ON
Press & Hold F2
Access BIOS Under “Advanced” select “Post logo Type” and choose “animated”
For some reason this seems to have fixed my boot problem with Ubuntu Mate on my laptop!?
My laptop now boots from a cold start every time reliably.
