What is the error you are getting? How can anyone help you if you don't give them the error?
I just recently found the error.
And looked and looked at the site for help with paper jams.
Please keep in mind...I have cognitive syndrome.
Please share the benefits of what you learned with others regarding the specific error you faced, and the solution that resolved the issue.
"Spread the wealth!"
The error was a jammed printer. I have practically taken it apart looking for the paper jam.
It is a Brother HL-2240 laser jet monochrome printer.
At first I thought my labels were causing the jam.
I changed out the paper.
Do you have any ideas?
When it comes to issues that are "internal" to hardware, this is not the "best" forum to ask for help.
A Google search gives the following URL for a video about jams for that specific printer.
Hardware discussions on this forum should be focused on the software integration or incompatibilities between the hardware and the UbuntuMATE specifically. Anything that could be deemed of a more generalized nature should be raised on the Ubuntu core-focused forum, where there would be a wider audience of potential assistance-providers.
I was just going to look for a forum
The Brother forum has not responded for 2 days.
P.S. this is what I am dealing with.
Cognitive impairment
Problems with a person's ability to think, learn, remember, use judgement,
and make decisions. Signs of cognitive impairment include memory loss and trouble concentrating, completing tasks,
understanding, remembering, following instructions, and solving problems.
I know this is not relevant to the forum, but I am a printer engineer.
If you have taken the device apart and cannot find anything it could be a stuck paper sensor or a tiny scrap of paper blocking a sensor, a can of compressed air might help, the two objects at the top of the paper tray may be sensors that tell the machine the paper has come out and not jammed, the internal ones will not look like this through.
Thank you sir. I will check it out.
I used this to blow out the printer.
It had a very good pressure.
But I still get a paper jam error.
I can not afford to buy another printer.
The machines I work on usually have better feedback to the user like lcd displays with jam codes that can be looked up in a service manual, some even display a picture of all the sensors including the one that's stuck.
You need to look elsewhere for assistance as I cannot help you further, have you tried YouTube?
Have you checked this ?
How do I clear the 'Paper Jam' message from my Brother machine's display?
I sold a phone on Ebay and am trying to figure how to print the shipping label.
I could take a picture of the shipping label and get Walgreens to make a color print?
What do you think?
It would be better to "print to PDF" (directly from your browser) and get Walgreens to print that PDF.
But it would be glossy paper, I think. I will save it as a PDF.
Done. Have to go to Boost to get my sold phone erased. But first I will use a cable to copy everything to my hard drive.
Yeah, pretty much. I suspect the little plastic tab just beneath the 2nd roller to be the "PE Actuator".
I did a regular copy of files from my android phone to a folder.
Can I cancel and do something more efficient?
No, however slow, this is the most efficient.
If you want it faster you need to put a large capacity micro-sd card in your phone and a micro-sd cardreader on your computer but to be honest, it isn't worth the hassle.
Just wait it out, take a coffee or luchbreak or something :-).
