After doing the Ubuntu-Mate Software Update.
Firefox version 56 still crashes!!!
That goes the same with version 55!!!
It does not have the ports for Firefox version 56 for the Ubuntu–Mate 16.04.2!!!
I try so many things and it does not seems to work at all!
Come on guys!!!
Please don't post duplicates for well known issues.
There is nothing Ubuntu MATE can do about this.
A fix might eventually come from upstream, but the firefox devs apparently aren't very motivated:

Upstream for a development project refers to places where the software is maintained upwards in the software stack.
For Firefox (ubuntu), Upstream is Firefox (debian)
For Firefox (debian), Upstream is Firefox (mozilla)
