On opensource drivers it works fine, but it seems that the proprietary nvidia drivers does something that prevents the HiDPI settings to be applied when a user logins.
Is there any way to fix that? Or at least is there a mate-tweak command line options to set HiDPI settings so I can automate as a workaround?

Is there anyway to adjust scaling in MATE 16.04? I've just switched gpu from amd to nvidia and everything ( panels, font, browsers) are far too enlarged. Using the x.org nouveau driver everything looked fine, but I can't get the same results with the proprietary drivers, which I installed via:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
