We need "context" details, which is the report provided by the command:

inxi -ACDMNSG

Once you have posted the report, make sure to have "```" on a line by itself, before and after the text you pasted.

The more expert users in our Community might be able to offer up something more direct or simple. However, ...

Not sure, but maybe reviewing this earlier discussion, where there is mention of a "race condition" during boot that could be impacting the "sanity" or your DM might give you some insights.

Beyond that, if you want to dig in, I suggest you review this earlier posting where I outlined the use of some commands to get a detailed view of the sequence that is occurring during your systemd boot process, to see if there might be an "out-of-sequence" condition which is causing your issue.

Have you tried making changes in the Mate Panel then rebooting?

I hope this helps. I remember installing the official amd drivers and that f***ed up my install and i had to remove the drivers since the kernel supports the amd drivers by default because when i put my games in full screen my fps goes down for no reason thats a separate problem from mate.
