Just a late comment: I have seen that excact same thing consistently since I upgraded from UMate 20.04 to Umate 22.04. It runs 24/7 with several servers and a GUI full of "tailed" logfiles from firewalls, minecrafts and xonotics. After a day or so the indicator starts eating cpu; Not really a big problem, but it gets annoying... The core temp raises from 59C to 72C, and that causes the fan to run noisy. The killall solution does work, but it causes a popup, and the problem returns after a day. It's a Gigabyte brix machine with i5 - 8 cores, 16Gigs of ram and ssd disk.
