well i would love to try and see if the new version runs on my Asus 1015e note book pc yes i know its a bit of a slightly old tech and i really am more used to this manner of tech… oh dear i am starting to sound like my dad… any ways if any recommendations as to which version i should down load to install on that miniature pc i be more than happy to contribute with opinions, suggestions and personal experiences based on the OS performance for user needs.

Hi Guldrin

The only version we test here is 16.10. Do you already have Mate installed on your Asus? What are your computer specs (ram, cpu, video)?

Hi @anon42388993,

it shoud work with 16.04 and 16.10 no problem:

Hi @Guldrin,

16.10 is a dev version only and is not recommended for daily use, install 16.04 and it should work!.

Hi wolfman

I also got some hits

Hi @anon42388993,

on some of those links you posted it came pre-installed with Ubuntu 12.04!, what I can read from the specs is that should work with 16.04?, your thoughts on that?.

Hi @Guldrin,

As your laptop came with Win 8 and I'm not sure if you are a beginner or not, please read the beginners guide and the part about UEFI for when you do any partitioning if you are a beginner!:

I don’t believe that Apport will report the one failure I’ve discoverd thus far … ubi-console-startup failed
I posted a screen capture here
two times for me and one for @Don_in_Vermont

No, I do not think so either. Which could require a launchpad bug report. If we are going to discuss such things like launchpad/bugzilla it should be done in a separate thread. I want to keep it simple in this thread for new users and I consider a bug report something for the more advance tester to pursue. Thank you
