No weather after update 21.10 -> 22.04

I updated my UM 21.10 to 22.04 and all works great! Thank you for this masterpiece!
Marco especially seems enhanced. I no more have screen disturbances at Libre Office like "scratched" words.

But I miss the new "weather" applet.
Is there any chance to get it without full new install?

Hi Tatanka,

I added it by right-mouse-click on the mate-panel -> add to panel -> weather report.

I happened to do a fresh install so that is a bit different from your situation.
If you don't see the "weather report" in the "add to panel" list, you might want to check if these files are installed:

libmate-panel-applet-4-1/jammy,now 1.26.2-1 amd64 [installed,automatic]
mate-applet-appmenu/jammy,now 0.7.6+dfsg1-4 amd64 [installed,automatic]
mate-panel/jammy,now 1.26.2-1 amd64 [installed,automatic]
mate-panel-common/jammy,jammy,now 1.26.2-1 all [installed,automatic]

You can check with this command:

apt search mate-panel 2>/dev/null |grep installed

Different from 20.04:
20.04 had the weather and the clock in one applet: the clock applet
22.04 has the weather and the clock as two separate applets
this might be the reason that your weather applet "disappeared" from panel.

Just confirming
In UM20.04 > UM22.04 Upgrade for me it does show in the right click add to panel menu.

Hi tkn,
until now I am using the old weather report and I see no possibility to add the new one. I have the "weather report" in the "add to panel" list, but the old one.
The search command gave no answer but a check at synaptic shows me all the files you mentioned. Weird, isn't it?

Thank you mendy,
it seems my upgrade from 21.10 has a problem with that.
As you see in my answer to tkn the old applet wasn't replaced.

Hi @tatanka !

Which new weather applet in UM 22.04 are you referring to? UM 22.04 has the GNOME Weather application preinstalled, but it is not an applet, it is a simple window application.

Hi Tatanka,

To make it clear, this is the weather applet what 22.04 should offer
weatherindicator

It is the one that appears as an icon on the mate-panel, which is added like this:

And this is the version it should be:
weatherversion

Are you , perhaps, referring to a totally different app ?
Are you referring to GNOME-Weather ? (thanks @ironfoot )

GnomeWeatherVersion

If it is GNOME-Weather that you want, you only have to open a terminal and type:

sudo apt install gnome-weather

Or, if you prefer a GUI, use 'synaptic' to install gnome-weather

It is the new wheather applet I wanted but still have the old one.
I also installed Gnome weather 42.0 which did not work at UM 21.10.
But it is not essential. I found Meteo and am happy with it!
Thank you for your assistance!
tatanka

thank you, ironfoot, for your assistance!
See my answer to tkn

You are welcome @tatanka . Glad you have found a nice solution!

I lost temperature in 22.04. So I added Weather Report to panel. All the cities I eneter reply as no data.
