There is no Mac OS X on this machine. This is an iMac 4,1, a core duo 2GHz, 2GB RAM machine. I am considering swapping out the CPU for a Core2Duo T7600 so that the machine can enjoy more RAM and a 64bit architecture.

This Acer E15, the $370 laptop with an I3, a 1080pscreen, an OPTICAL drive (!), and 6 GB RAM, which I upgraded to 16GB. It has a slot for a M.2 SSD, which I use as /.
My final upgrade was to format the execrable Windows 10, and install Ubuntu MATE. Last week, I started dual-booting with Manjaro, a much faster distro than any flavor of Ubuntu; Manjaro runs ~20 processes, while Ubuntu ~90, making Manjaro noticeably faster.
I still have great affection for Ubuntu MATE, and I support MATE development by a small amount; the Ubuntu MATE devs also maintain and upgrade MATE, so that's important to this 70 year old Linux freak.
