Since I was unable to upgrade to MATE v1.28.2, maybe someone could help fix the weather applet on the MATE Panel, since it quit working quite a few months ago.
I have research and tried to no avail. I even copied the libmateweather.so.1.6.9 from a working MATE 1.28.2 install on another PC and replaced mine, but the applets quit working altogether.
EDIT:
I was able to get the weather applet up and running again.
First, I made a backup copy of the existing, non-working âlibmateweather.so.1.6.9â file.
After that, I simply copied the âlibmateweather.so.1.6.9â file from another PC with EndeavourOS and MATE v1.28.2 into my â/usr/local/lib/â
And the applets started working instantly, no reboot necessary.
Thank you for your answer. That is an older method, which worked until about 7-8 months ago, but for some reason, last time I tried that it no longer worked.
I did however found a somewhat rudimentary fixâŚ
I will marked the post as SOLVED and explain what I did.
Thanks, Eric.
I dabbled into Conky years ago, even published one on Gnomelook.org https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1006017
Iâm past âbells and whistlesâ, my desktop is 100% clean.
I solved the problem, at least for now, I will edit initial post and explain.
