[SOLVED] Ubuntu MATE wallpaper script

I am running Ubuntu MATE and there are a set of photos of the Universe, Cosmos or whatever you want to call as a wallpaper which the system changes every 30 mins. When I first installed it about 6 months ago, I found a file which was obviously the script enabling this. But now I cannot find it again. Can anyone tell me the name of this file and in which folder it is located?

Thanks in advance if you can help.

It’s Okay; ignore this post - I have found the file I was looking for.

Thanks.

Hi

This is not a script but i use "Variety wallpaper changer"
It works nice on Ubuntu MATE Desktop for me.

Yeah, sorry. It is a file called background-1.xml which is the script for running a set of photos as a slideshow for the desktop wallpaper. It is in /usr/share/backgrounds/cosmos/

This is the default set of photos (great pics of space and our planet) for the version of UbuntuMATE that I am running (MATE Desktop Environment 1.8.2), and I want to try and set up my own set of pics to have an alternate slideshow.

Regards,

Malcolm.

I just installed this on your recommendation. It is brilliant - exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

I don’t need to modify the background.xml file now. “Variety” works a treat.
