Hello, I’m newbie when it comes to Linux,but I’m delighted with MATE.
It all works fine,but I have a problem, suddenly after some time, whether its 30 minits or 2 hours, system freezes,nothing works. Neither ctrl alt delete, ctrl alt f2, ctrl alt backspace .
I have Asus laptop x551MA.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE FOR LINUX BEGINNERS. WHEN YOU ARE IN RECOVERY MODE, THE KEYBOARD DEFAULTS TO US ENGLISH, IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER LANGUAGE KEYBOARD OTHER THAN US ENGLISH, WHEN YOU TYPE "Y" (FOR "YES"), IT MIGHT SHOW UP AS A DIFFERENT LETTER, ON MY KEYBOARD I MUST PRESS THE "Z" KEY WHICH EQUATES TO "Y" AS I HAVE A GERMAN KEYBOARD, JUST PRESS "BACKSPACE" AND HIT A DIFFERENT KEY UNTIL YOU SEE THE "Y" SHOW UP!.

If you have a broken install, try running the following terminal command (Ctrl + Alt + t):
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -f
Oh well,for making a bootable usb I was using “unetbootin” tool.
Anyway I will try with your second advice and will let you know if it’s resolved.
Thank you for your time and your effort

Is your CPU overheating? In Welcome, in the Getting Started section, there is a System Information page. From there you can install psensor that will give your temperature readings.
Hi @Kosingas
