Wobbly windows on MATE 22.04?

Hey fellas,

so I installed 22.04 after the update from 20.04 version had failed to a dbus error during the process. But that's not the topic. Question: how can I get back my beloved wobbly windows effect in 22.04?

I'd really appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Chris

Welcome to Ubuntu MATE community!

You have to:

  1. install needed packages by

    sudo apt update
    sudo apt install compiz compiz-core compiz-mate compiz-plugins compiz-plugins-default compiz-plugins-extra compizconfig-settings-manager

  2. launch MATE Tweak, go to Windows tab and select Compiz window manager here

  3. launch Compiz Config Settings Manager from menu or by ccsm command

  4. finally enable Wobbly Windows effect and enjoy it

I had a lot of issues trying to install a fresh 22.04. Compiz behaved weird. No upper and lower caps of the cube and all destops when rotating had a black shadow.
I installed it again but keeping unformatted home partition with all configuration of 20.04
When Installed compiz everything works as it does since 2018

Norbert, thank you so much!! It is working again like it never had stopped working.

Did someone of you have the same issues after upgrading to 24.04? Is the tweak from @Norbert_X still working?
