Heads-up: Reduce the "string splitting"

Hi translators,

An issue brought up many times is that the strings in Welcome are split up, posing problems when different languages do not structure the sentence in the same way.

For example, the current method:

Your system is booted in mode.

Doesn’t make too much sense, right? But in context:

  • Your system is booted in UEFI mode.

This splitting is a result of preventing HTML tags from being exposed, where a mistake can affect the rendering of the page. During the 17.10 cycle in future, we’d like to reduce this “splitting” and use placeholders instead. So in this example:

  • Your system is booted in [0] mode.

However, after this change, the affected strings will need to be re-translated as they are now technically new. This is just a heads-up that if you translate these split strings now, they may need to be re-translated in future.
