Difficulty keeping track on errors!

#1

@lah7 & @Wimpy,

Hi chaps,

I had made a note of some errors I had found but since changes have been made to the originals; the numbers have changed and I can’t see them now!.

What I did find is the following entry #245 in “Getting started”.

Reads:

Share your computer with others? Set up each user with their own unique
profile that they can use to login and isolate their personal data with
yours.

My suggestion:

Share your computer with others?. Set up a separate unique user account for each user to protect the individual privacy of the users when sharing the same PC.

In “Chatroom” entry #5:

Reads:

Most of the Ubuntu MATE team are in here but they have real lives too. If you have a question, do ask.

My suggestion:

Most of the Ubuntu MATE team are **on** here but they have real lives too. If you have a question, **feel free to ask.**

Or:

Most of the Ubuntu MATE team are **active on** here but they have real lives too. If you have a question, **feel free to ask.**

In “Community” entry #3:

Reads:

If you want to chat with the Ubuntu MATE team and other members of our growing community, this is where to go. The best place to play an active role in the Ubuntu MATE community and to help shape its direction is via our forum.

My suggestion:

If you want to chat with the Ubuntu MATE team and other members of our growing community, **then** this is where to go. The best place to play an active role in the Ubuntu MATE community and to help shape its direction is via our forum.

Obviously without the asterisks!.

Keep up the good work

Typos or questions about English strings in ubuntu-mate-welcome
#2

Thanks @wolfman, I’ll amend those soon. Suggestions and changes are happening so fast… that’s good, right?

Keep an eye on Welcome’s commit log too. Translations were also recently synced again.

Hi Luke,

I have already done the current changes I found to the German translation this morning. I will check again later!.

I will also do a guide to using Welcome when I am bored and there is nothing to watch on TV which I will also include in the beginners guide (a link at least!).

A full-depth type of guide isn’t really necessary in my opinion, Welcome is pretty self-explanatory (and in other languages too!)

:white_check_mark: Changes made. Won’t be synced to Transflex yet.

I was thinking more along the lines of something just to make people aware of “Welcome” as even older Linux hands might not even know it exists!. Nothing too fancy or long winded!.
